Cruising in Dominican Republic
With spectacularly beautiful scenery, fantastic sandy white beaches, impressive mountain ranges, breathtaking rivers and waterfalls; The Dominican Republic is a truly idyllic cruise destination.
Plenty of activities by day, lively nightlife, friendly locals and very reasonable prices make the Dominican Republic a great all round Caribbean destination. Less developed than some of the neighbouring Caribbean islands, the Dominican Republic is certainly up and coming. Its natural beauty and simple Latin American charm more that make up for what it lacks in sophistication.
The beaches are attractive and you will find that most hotels offer a full range of water sports and activities. Some of the best beaches on the island are Playa Dorada and Cofresi, with long stretches of golden sand. On the south coast the fine white beaches around Santo Domingo are the best, whilst Bravaro boasts some of the best beaches in the Caribbean with beautiful unblemished sand and clear, turquoise water. The capital, Santo Domingo, houses some outstanding colonial architecture. Jurrasic Park was filmed on the island in Jarabocoa.
