Ship statistics;

Cruise & Maritime Voyages was formed in 2009, excelling in providing no fly cruising holidays on small to mid-sized traditional ships. The cruises are hugely popular with the older generation due to its laid back atmosphere, classic activities and friendly attentive service.

MS Astor from Cruise & Maritime Voyages offers an intimate setting, carrying just 620 lucky passengers. She is the newest member of the fleet, and sails South Africa and roundtrip Australia cruises. Seen as being the more high-end of the three, she includes some excellent specialty restaurants along with three premium suites. Others in the fleet include MV Discovery and the flagship MS Marco Polo.

Enjoy fantastic trips to South Africa and beyond with Cruise and Maritime, sailing from London Tilbury where she is stationed.

There’s a great selection of traditional dining options considering how petit the ship is. The Waldorf Restaurant has an open sitting for breakfast and lunch, with fixed dining options at dinner time. Food here is perfect for those uninterested in overly fussy food – expect delicious home-cooked soups, tasty salmon dinners and wholesome puddings.

Prefer a buffet? The Club Bistro is the casual option, with a modest variety food stations, along with themed evenings. Special occasion? Book in early to experience The Romantic, and exquisite venue serving up roast lamb and monkfish mains, whilst Toscana welcomes a taste of Italy.

Leisure and entertainment on board is delightful, offering a modest selection of activities and ways to fill your time whilst making new acquaintances along the way. The indoor and outdoor swimming pools and whirlpools are popular on those hot days at sea, and should always be followed by a relaxing trip to the sauna, salon or massage studios in the wellness centre. For those wanting to keep fit, be sure to head over to the sports deck, perfect for the competitive spirits. Here you can enjoy a game of volleyball, tennis and mini golf, or alternatively exercise the mind with a game of big board chess.

After enjoying your favourite cocktail by the pool at the Captains Club, head over to the Astor Lounge. Here, the onboard entertainment team display their talents, showcasing light-hearted cabarets and other top-notch performances. Alternatively, the resident pianist could be the soundtrack to a low-key game of cards with your favourite night cap.
