Jersey, United Kingdom

Cruising to Jersey

Britain's sunniest isle

At just nine miles by five, Jersey is a tiny island. However, looks can be deceptive - there is plenty to see and do here.

Nature rules supreme here, and setting out into the beautiful countryside is a definite must for anyone engaging in a short stay. Flower-filled meadows, shady woods, a rough and ready coast - it's all here and it's all stunning.

Wildlife fanatics will also have something to shout about, with the narrow cliff paths near St Helier taking tourists past puffin and petrel colonies. Birdwatchers will recognise the calls of sea campion, swallows and spotted flycatchers, to name a few.

Then there's the weather. The sun shines down on Jersey for more hours than anywhere else on the British Isles, which makes it a great cruise stop-off for those who have heard about the legendary English summer but have no desire to experience it.
