Pandaw River Cruises

What began as the first river cruise operator on the Irrawaddy during Burma’s colonial period, Pandaw River Cruises has flourished into an expert, leading luxury cruise company that sees guests returning time and time again. Onboard a beautiful fleet of river ships, guests will experience the heart of Southeast Asia in pure comfort.

Pandaw have sixteen handcrafted river ships designed to access the more remote areas of the river many larger river vessels cannot reach. With décor reflective of the colonial-era, you will find beautiful brass finishings and tropical teak flooring. Upon arrival, Pandaw River Cruises welcomes guests with fruit and flowers, as well as kimonos, slippers, mineral water and other amenities.

Pandaw River Cruises’ largest ships hold up to 48 passengers, ensuring an intimate and non-crowded experience onboard. With plenty of space for sightseeing on the upper deck, guests can choose to relax in their own company with a good book, or mingle with new-found friends.

In order to create the most memorable Southeast Asian experience, Pandaw River Cruises design their menus using ingredients that are locally sourced. A professional team of international chefs serve local, exotic cuisine as well as classic Western dishes, while special dietary requirements can also be catered to upon request.

Whether you are onboard or onshore, Pandaw River Cruises bring the culture and history of Southeast Asia to you. Through a number of fascinating lectures, cooking demonstrations and performances, you will take home a world of knowledge on the destinations you visited throughout the itinerary as well as new skills to impress friends and family!

On a Pandaw River Cruise you will stop once a day, sometimes even twice, to explore the destinations onshore. Many of these places are remote and only accessible by horse cart or a speedboat, and are home to local communities who will welcome you along the way. Throughout the itinerary you will have an opportunity to visit the bustling local markets where the head chef will find the best ingredients, while you also have the freedom to sightsee at your own leisure. Grab one of the provided mountain bikes and explore the towns, countryside and villages along the waterways, but don’t forget your camera for some amazing snapshots!

With exception to Zawgyi Pandaw, staterooms throughout the fleet are all the same size and top-class quality. Despite the intimate size of the fleet, cabins are designed to be spacious, airy and luxurious, with kimonos, slippers and spa-branded toiletries at your disposal. It’s easy to see why the staterooms are one of the most popular features onboard the ship, providing a peaceful haven at the end of an action-packed afternoon.

On larger river ships cruising along the Mekong River, guests can wind down in the spa after a busy day of exploring onshore. With a wide range of treatments available – including the traditional Khmer full body massage – there is no doubt you’ll leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed more than ever.

Pandaw River Cruises sail the must-see rivers of Southeast Asia, while also exploring the hidden gems that few will get to experience. These unique itineraries range from 2-day short cruises to 21-day expeditions, with some combining multiple rivers and allowing you to cross off more items from your bucket list, from Vietnam to India and Cambodia to Burma.
