Summer 2021 Seacations - UK Coastal Cruises
Princess Cruises UK sailings in Summer 2021 on Regal Princess (31st July - 23rd September) and Sky Princess (30th August - 28th September) are only available to vaccinated guests.
Given the advanced progress of the UK vaccination programme, and strong expressed preference on the part of Princess Cruises guests for this limited series of UK cruises, these sailings on Regal and Sky Princess will be for UK resident Covid-19 vaccinated guests only.
For these cruises the definition of “vaccinated” is a minimum of seven days following the second dose of the currently approved Covid-19 vaccines being administered. Proof of vaccination and the dates given will be required (approved forms of evidence will be confirmed closer to time of departure) and this will be required to be shown at the terminal prior to boarding. Failure to provide this evidence will result in denial of boarding. There is no age restriction on this series of UK coastal cruises but all guests of all ages must meet the requirements of the Princess Covid-19 vaccination policy.
All other Princess Cruises holidays currently on sale do not require guests to be vaccinated.
Further detail around requirements specific to your cruise will be provided to you prior to departure.
Passport and Insurance Requirements
You will need a passport to travel on these new cruises, with a minimum of 6 months validity after your date of return. Princess Cruises Summer 2021 Seacation voyages are only open to UK residents.
As part of terms and conditions it is mandatory for all UK guests to have suitable travel insurance cover. Travel insurance ensures that guests can relax and enjoy their holiday with peace of mind that they are covered for most eventualities. Typically, travel insurance covers cancellation of your holiday, stolen belongings and medical treatment. Insurance documents will be checked at the terminal and boarding will be denied, at guests’ own expense, for anyone without appropriate cover. When travelling with Princess Cruises, insurance must include medical and repatriation cover of £2 million minimum that includes cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to Covid-19.
Domestic cruises will be able to operate with up to 1,000 people or 50% capacity, whichever is lower. This capacity limit applies to passengers only. With this in mind, Princess Cruises will initially be reducing the number of guests on their UK summer seacation cruises following their pause in operations. They have reduced the number of cabins and suites available accordingly to enable a smooth return to service.
Princess Cruises are adapting their restaurants and bars to ensure that guests can enjoy their experience and maintain social distancing in line with the guidance. In their buffets, team mates will serve guests and line monitors will also manage guest flow and social distancing. Only guests in the same travel party will be allowed to dine at the same table. There will not be seating at bar counters, and operating hours will be adjusted, if needed, to allow for reduced capacity at any given time or venue. Guests can also use OceanNow in the MedallionClass app to order food, drinks and other items to be delivered anywhere they are on board, which allows more freedom in terms of where they drink and dine.
Princess Cruises Ocean Medallion technology will assist guests with pre booking dining arrangements and allows complete flexibility.
All dining venues will be open including the speciality restaurants, where guests can dine at Princess favourites Crown Grill and Sabatini's, as well as newer additions to the fleet such as Sky Princess’ Bistro Sur La Mer created with 3 Michelin star chef Emmanuel which will be bookable via the MedallionClass app.
Can I go ashore?
On voyages which stop at UK ports of call guests will only be able to go ashore on shore excursions that have been organised and approved by Princess Cruises. Guests will not be able to go ashore independently at this stage.
Do children under the age of 18 need to be vaccinated in order to travel?
Guests of all ages must meet the requirements of the Covid-19 vaccination policy.
Will children’s clubs be open?
Children’s Clubs will be open, but with protocols in place, including enhanced cleaning. Princess Cruises will be adhering to the latest Government advice at the time of sailing.
Will Covid tests be required for the UK Seacation sailings and for future cruises?
As the vaccine roll out progresses and the Government has announced its intended roadmap for the future, the guidance is continually evolving. Pre-embakation covid tests may be required as part of Princess Cruises framework of protocols and will be complimentary in the price of the holiday. Princess Cruises will update all guests prior to their holiday departure date if this is the case.
What are the enhanced health protocols and will I need to wear a mask?
All guests and crew will be required to follow enhanced health and wellbeing measures to protect everyone on board on these cruises. These have been developed with guidance from Princess Cruises global medical and public health experts and scientists, and in close coordination with UK Government agencies. In line with Princess Cruises requirement that crew wear face masks on board, guests will also be required to wear a face mask in certain public areas of the ship. Enhanced sanitation measures and social distancing will also be in place. As per Princess Cruises current health protocols, there will be no exceptions to wearing a mask and guests will be required to wear a face mask in certain areas on board. Therefore, if you are exempt from wearing a face mask, Princess Cruises recommend you do not make a booking as you will not be permitted to travel unless you wear a face mask.
Will passengers be allowed to board if they’ve been in contact with a COVID-19 case?
If a guest has been in contact with someone who has Covid-19 symptoms or has been self-isolating in the days prior to your cruise they will not be permitted to board the ship.
Can I book two UK Seacation cruises back to back?
Back to back bookings will not be available on these new summer 2021 UK coastal cruises. Guests will require a seven day gap between any of the UK getaway cruises.
Do I still get my loyalty benefits on these cruises?

Princess Cruises Covid-19 safety measures
Anyone displaying flu-like symptoms or who has been in contact with someone with COVID-19 or suspected COVID-19 will not be allowed to travel. Prior to boarding guests must undergo health screening. The terminals will also be frequently cleaned and sanitized, as well as fogged between embarkations where possible.
Frequent cleaning will continue onboard, especially on high touch points such as chairs, tables and doors, while hand sanitiser stations will be conveniently located both in public spaces and crew areas to encourage handwashing.
All cruise ship medical staff will be given special training on COVID-19, and anyone who develops symptoms during their cruise should visit the health centre for testing and treatment.
