St Petersburg is a beautiful place during the spring months with the ice melting and the temperatures rising to enable you to enjoy the sights. The summer months are from June to September where it is warm and comfortable for sitting on a bench by the river or on a street café and watching the busy inhabitants go about their daily lives, whereas from November to March Russia tends to have extremely low temperatures.

The cuisine in Russia is diverse and varied with world influences. Traditional cuisine is made up of fish, poultry game and vegetables for delicious stews or soups and the more refined smoked meats and pastry.
