Silver Whisper offers a totally unique seafaring experience, bridging the gap between adventure travel and luxury cruises. Indeed, the vessel shares many of the same characteristics as Silversea Cruises' other intrepid ships, whilst at the same time fusing these with elements normally associated with high-end travel.
For instance, the Silver Whisper is an intimate ship, with enough room to accommodate just 382 passengers, and is therefore highly mobile - a crucial feature which enables her to navigate to some of the most remote destinations in the world. However, unlike the Silver Discoverer and Silver Explorer, she has been designed to provide the ultimate luxury cruise experience.
Some 302 members of staff are employed on each voyage, thereby ensuring one of the highest guests-to-staff ratios at sea, and providing service that is second to none. As if that wasn't enough, all cabins onboard the Silver Whisper are classed as suites, with only the finest and most comfortable rooms available for guests to choose from.
The ship offers many of the facilities and amenities normally only found on much larger cruise liners, with a spa, fitness centre, casino and show lounge among the many onboard attractions.
Post refurbishment in 2016, Silver Whisper sails with refreshed interiors including elegant new carpets, renewed wooden flooring in many venues, newly upholstered chairs and a beautiful marble topped bar in the Observation Lounge. Two new whirlpools grace the pool deck, whist new synthetic turf has been added to the jogging and spa decks for outdoor activities.
Despite its modest size, the Silver Whisper offers an extensive range of dining options, with the main dining room being the Restaurant. Here, guests can enjoy contemporary international cuisine of the highest quality, surrounded by tasteful and elegant decor. For something a little more casual, meanwhile, you may choose to dine al fresco at the Pool Bar and Grill, which serves up classics like steaks, hamburgers and pizzas, while La Terrazza provides some of the finest Italian food at sea.
If you're looking for something truly posh, however, be sure to spend an evening or too at Le Champagne, the ship's wine restaurant. Here, you'll be able to sample some of the world's top wines, accompanied by a sophisticated tasting menu of regionally inspired dishes.
Perhaps the best thing about the Silver Whisper is the way that it seems to offer all the entertainment you'd expect from a larger cruise ship whist still retaining an intimate and exclusive atmosphere. For example, the Pool Deck is the perfect place to chill out or splash about during days at sea, while the onboard spa enables guests to be pampered.
The Show Lounge, meanwhile, hosts regular performances ranging from classical music concerts to full-scale theatrical productions, so you'll certainly never be short of great entertainment when voyaging on the Silver Whisper.
