The rooms/ship were a little bit tired but this did not spoil a lovely cruise, with excellent staff and great ports of call.
I love Explorer 2 it's adult only which is nice, the staff are great they all work very hard, and Captain Richard is very nice too.
We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise despite poor weather. Would have liked more choice on dinner menus. All the crew/ staff were very friendly and helpful. Enquired about same cruise for this year but sailing on Christmas Day and returning on New Years Day definitely not suitable
It was like butlins on sea . Food was at best ok .
We had the most amazing time from start to end was wonderful
A lovely ship, however it can be tricky to find certain areas due to the Deck 5 galley bring in the way so an extra complication for orienteering the layout. Staff are fabulous, very friendly and accomodating for all your needs. The ship is quite stable, but there are warnings if the swell gets up. Generally the food is great, plenty of choice and variety considering the ships numbers. Nonna's is amazing- freshly cooked whilst you wait. Entertainment is excellent particularly the shows and bands. The entertaining crew are brilliant.
Nice ship , cabin fine , food good in Vista , but very average elsewhere, disappointed in bread and cakes/sweets in all venues , prob not made onboard but bought in. Even though we had a junior suite there was no dressing gowns or slippers. Staff very friendly and efficient , we did not try any extra charge restaurants . Weather was great , itinerary a bit odd visiting Las Palmas twice, but we knew that and enjoyed all ports especially Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura . You can buy specialty coffee in the coffee port £2. 55 for flat white , but the milk used is long life cartons and totally overpowers the flavour of the coffee , but it is drinkable. Horrific return flight queues at Tenerife , too many Tui flights going at same time , took well over an hour to simply get flight tickets ( which could have been provided online but were not), then more queues at security and passport control ( why use the new automated machines only to then have to have your passport manually stamped , double the process and double the time. ) Overall this cruise suits big drinkers , the inclusive package of drinks is very good , nice wine , bottles of Moretti or Peroni to name a few. As for other guests some dressed up and some didn’t , due to the all inclusive drinks it can be a bit boisterous, as we are not big drinkers I don’t feel we got good value for money ……. but the majority clearly did. Shows were quite good , lounge singers too. Think Benidorm at sea and you won’t be far off.
We had a great time! Marella think of everything to make your cruise memorable. Food great, bars comfortable and itinerary lovely. Although last port was missed for a very sad reason. We spent the day, hoping the search would find the gentleman for the sake of his family.
In most things Marella exceeded our expectations. The cabin facilities and cleanliness was very good. The entertainment team worked hard and made for an enjoyable cruise. My only criticism was the afternoon teas, to be precise the sandwiches, I have never in my years of cruising experienced such bland uninteresting flavours, no butter, very little filling and wafer thin cucumber, dry and tasteless. I thought I may have been mistaken one day as there was some flavour but then I realised I was chewing a paper towel!!!
Great staff great weather great food brilliant all round experience
