A large island nation on Africa’s east coast, Madagascar was geographically isolated in the Indian Ocean for around 90 million years. It has several coastal cities and small ports that a cruise ship can visit. In and around Tôlanaro there is a lot to see, like the Saiadi Botanic Garden where you can see some of the country’s unique plant species, as well as birds and butterflies.
