Customer reviews for Iona
The captain from day one , had only one principal, to save P&P as much money as he could. He cancelled the 1st port of Madeira on day one of cruising, despite having 4 days catch up on 18 hours cruising. Then cancelled the visit to Lanzarote due to bad weather, but we were in Gran Canaria the day before and the weather was fine. He didn't care about the passengers, he only cared about P&O PROFITS.
Good cruise, no issues with food, service or ship. We missed the call to Lisbon due to industrial action in the port, which was unfortunate as Lisbon is always a highlight but not P and O's fault. Weather in ports very good for thisd time of year, a storm and missing Lisbon meant we got back to Southampton a day early.
Boarding was chaotic. Clientele demographics changing for the worse. PO not helping as fail to ensure rules are adhered to. Families with young children in main restaurants at dinner. The children are tired and should be in bed not crying in restaurants. They should be allocated a specific venue or area within the restaurant. Children in hot tubs under the age of 8yrs with nappies and for excessive periods. No enforcement by crew. Potentially a health and safety issue.
As always the Iona was excellent. However we did experience a lot of hold ups when we arrived at the port. So many people having to wait to get into the departure lounge. What didn't help was it was raining very hard. This was the first time that we have experienced this.
