What To Do On Odyssey Of The Seas

Odyssey of the Seas joined the Royal Caribbean fleet in 2021, and we were lucky enough to be on board her pre-inaugural sailing in the Bahamas. With space for more than 4,000 guests, this incredible ship offers unforgettable at-sea experiences as well as exciting itineraries, including visits to the cruise line's very own private island CocoCay. Keep reading to see what we got up to during our time on board!

Make The Most Of The Buffet Restaurant

It goes without saying that dining on a cruise ship is something to look forward to, and on Odyssey of the Seas we certainly weren't disappointed. The Windjammer buffet restaurant was a hit from morning until evening, and we were so impressed by the incredible variety of dishes on offer here. A special mention must go to the bakery section where the cinnamon buns were out of this world and the perfect morning pick me up. The Shawarma kebab station was also exquisite, and even had an option for the vegetarians on board!

Enjoy A Meal At A Speciality Restaurant

As well as the fantastic restaurants included in your cruise fare, Odyssey of the Seas boasts an array of specialty restaurants including the magical-themed Wonderland and signature venue Chops Grille. We chose to treat ourselves to an evening at Teppanyaki, the ship's Japanese restaurant, and what a meal we had. The food was packed with flavour and absolutely delicious, and to make it even better the chefs put on such a show! It doesn't matter whether you're enjoying a romantic date night or a family meal, this is a venue everyone will remember.

Explore The Amazing Deck Space

There was so much to do on Odyssey of the Seas that we struggled to fit it all in. It didn't matter if you were travelling with children, a group of friends or with your partner, everyone was having the time of their lives. The Flowrider surf simulator was a hit as is always the case on a Royal Caribbean Cruise: there's just nothing quite like trying out your surfing skills several decks above sea level. We also made sure to try out bungee jumping on the Sky Pad and even skydiving on Ripcord by iFly.

Relax By The Pool

However, we also found out that it didn't have to be all go on Odyssey of the Seas. While we certainly got our fill of adrenaline, there was also plenty of opportunity to soak up the Caribbean sunshine. The pool deck has two resort-style pools meaning that whether you want to take a dip or lay on a sunbed, the hours quickly fly by. And to make things even better, the Lime and Coconut two-storey bar brought some island vibes on board. We'd highly recommend ordering a Pina Colada and chilling out on one of the pool deck's hammocks!

Watch A Show Or Two

It's not all about daytimes on board and ashore with Royal Caribbean; Odyssey of the Seas knows how to put on a show. Two70 is a modern venue with panoramic views and home to multimedia theatre performances. We watched The Book, an interactive fantasy show and it felt like we could have watched it three different times from three different angles and seen something different each time! The show at the main theatre was also incredible, and truly rivalled West-End and Broadway performances. The singing and dancing was just amazing, especially when you remember that it's included in your cruise fare!
