When Cunard first returns to sailing they will offer a series of UK voyages on board Queen Elizabeth up to and including departures through 1st October 2021. Given the advanced progress of the UK vaccination programme, and strong expressed preference on the part of guests for this limited series of UK Summer at Sea voyages, these sailings will be for UK residents, Covid-19 vaccinated guests only. For these voyages the definition of “vaccinated” is a minimum of seven days following the second dose of the currently approved Covid-19 vaccines being administered, or fourteen days following the single-dose vaccine. Proof of vaccination and the dates given will be required (approved forms of evidence will be confirmed closer to time of departure) and this will be required to be shown at the terminal prior to boarding. Failure to provide this evidence will result in denial of boarding at your own expense. There is no age restriction on this series of UK Summer at Sea voyages but all guests of all ages must meet the requirements of the Covid-19 vaccination policy.
Further detail around requirements specific to your cruise will be provided to you prior to departure.
Passport and Insurance Requirements
Although these are UK voyages, all guests will require a passport to board.
When travelling with Cunard, your travel insurance must include a combined medical and repatriation cover of £2 million minimum that includes cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to Covid-19. You must also ensure your policy includes cover for travel, cancellation and curtailment and full cover for any and all pre-existing medical conditions. Your travel insurance documents will be checked at the terminal and must cover the entire duration of your holiday. Unfortunately you will be denied boarding, at your own expense, if you don’t have appropriate cover.

What will the onboard experience be like?
Activities/areas of the ship where social distancing would be difficult may not be open when sailing begins. When it comes to dining, buffets will no longer be self-service and you may have to pre-book a table in restaurants. The pools will be open with reduced capacity. Cunard Covid-19 safety measures
Cunard's pre-cruise measures include a health declaration form, as well as requiring guests to return a negative Covid-19 test. At the embarkation terminal guests must adhere to social distancing rules and wear a facemask, as well as have their temperature taken and any other medical screening deemed necessary. Crew will also be required to undergo health screening before and during each cruise.
Onboard each ship, all areas including the spa, salon and pools will be open, and restaurants will be adapted including no self-service buffets, pre-booked tables and dining only in the group you're travelling with. While social distancing must be observed, guests can also link their bookings with friends and family onboard to form a group up to the maximum number allowed by the UK government at the time of departure.
While Cunard already have extremely high cleanliness standards onboard their ships, these have been increased, using products which fight Covid-19, both in public spaces and in staterooms and suites. Guests will also be encouraged to frequently wash their hands using the hand sanitizer found across each ship.
