Apart from obvious rust spots on the ship's paintwork the holiday was very enjoyable.
The ship is not a brand new vessel by any means but it is very clean and tidy and has an elegance about it that is timeless. On this particular cruise the entertainment was sufficient but not extravagant. Being an older clientele I would say it was certainly good enough. The food on board was exceptional, probably the best I have had on any cruise. The staff were very friendly and well trained and very good at their jobs.
This was our first cruise. Not too sure what to expect, but everything was amazing. Planet Cruise is the easiest cruise website because I can search for my local airports easily, which you can't on others. I can't rate excursions because I didn't take any.
Once again, a huge thank you to Planet Cruise for all your help with arranging this cruise, hotels, transfers and flights. Everything ran like clockwork. We have already booked another Celebrity cruise through yourselves for next year, as well as a NCL cruise. We would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone else. . . in fact we have already done so!
The staff and crew were Fantastic, the food and drinks were very good . However, could have done with some better air conditioning; i. e. in the cabins. Interestingly, there was a shower curtain instead of a proper door but the cabin has lots of cupboards. There were some good shows onboard.
We had an amazing time on the cruise with celebrity as always. Food, service, friendliness and itinerary were all excellent. The golden triangle tour for 7 days in India was absolutely superb and has to be experienced to fully appreciate its enormity and grandeur.
Great company to travel with, great value as long as you don’t get sucked into the whole upsellng Celebrity insists on putting on you as soon as you step on the ship. Itineries are great and reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone for future travel.
The best of India and Sri Lanka had an excellent itinerary and Planet Cruise packaged this to include 2 days in Abu Dhabi (prior to the cruise) and two days in Singapore ( at the end of the cruise). Cannot praise this package highly enough , we really enjoyed all the ports we visited and found it to be very good value for money. However, I would not recommend celebrity constellation ship and given the same itinerary with a different cruise line would go with the alternative cruise line. We were told that Celebrity were 5 star compared with other cruise lines. . . not the case. We can make comparisons with P&O, Princess and Cunard. We found Celebrity ship to be dated, activities driven by things they could charge you for , poor information available for independent travels (ie those not using their excursions) and generally average on everything else (food, activities, etc). I am not writing this to put you off , as I said it really is a fantastic experience. . . just lower your sights with regards to Celebrity. We took several excursions offered by Celebrity and they were very good (all had the usual stop off at the shops which was annoying!) but nevertheless a great way to see these sights with the convenience of a local guide. The disappointment for us was the lack of any information (maps, etc , which is the norm for other cruise lines) if you wanted to do something independently.
Although the ship could do with a makeover we had a fantastic two weeks. We make good friends and the staff were excellent throughout. The itinerary was as good as we have done, made better by extremely calm crossings and beautiful weather. My only criticisms are that they have a dress code for the restaurant but they done enforce it - I'm not a snob but i don't want be dressed up and sat next to someone sat in shorts, t-shirt and sandalsAlso the 24 hour buffet is bit disappointing especially late night when you fancy a snack - not everyone want pizza and that closes fairly early too - Not really 24 hour dining in the true sense of the word
Ship a little tiredservice was goodGood ports of callAll round a good break away
