Once again Celebrity didn't disappoint. The cruise around Japan was exceptional and truly an experience. We chose to find our way around and found the Suica card for use on the metro and buses so helpful. We missed the opportunity to get the Welcome Suica card at the airport as the air hostess on Etihad handed out immigration cards as the plane was touching down and add to that the wrong number of cards required, so this gave us a problem entering Japan. Fortunately we got through okay and our taxi was waiting to take us to the hotel we were staying in The Hotel Metropolitan in Nishi-ikebukuro. A superb hotel. We had three days in Tokyo. One of those days booked going to Mount Fuji with Viator. We booked this from the UK before we arrived in Japan. A real experience. The typhoon was moving in and we were heading to the mountain while others were heading into Tokyo. We had a brilliant tour guide Aiko. We went to level five at mount Fuji but it was raining and cloudy. The weather was gradually getting worse and the cable car trip was cancelled, we were refunded with vouchers to spend in the gift shop. We had a trip on the lake and the final big thing was the return to Tokyo on the bullet train. Would have no hesitation in recommending this company for trips and tours. We spent the evening in Tokyo hunting out all the popular tourist places. The next day we used our Suica card to explore Tokyo. A visit to the Tokyo Skytree was certainly worth a visit. All too soon our time in Tokyo was up. On our third day the taxi was outside the hotel waiting to take us to the docks and the Celebrity Millennium. What more can be said. Celebrity lived up to what we had come to expect. Comfortable accommodation, superb service from the crew, excellent shows, good food and the Martini Bar as usual lived up to it's reputation, a brilliant place to start your evening on board. All of the places visited on the cruise had something of intertest to visit and the one good thing as far as we were concerned was knowing we would be back onboard for the evening. It is a long way to travel but certainly worth it. Japan is more a experience than perhaps a holiday as it is busy and the metro is certainly an experience, but the days at sea allow you to chill out. We met fantastic people on the cruise and had so much fun with them. Our favourite cruise line once again Celebrity and our favourite cruise agents Planet Cruise/Iglu.
Superb service, as we’ve come to always expect from Celebrity. An unforgettable experience holidaying in Japan.
We had a wonderful holiday.
Great experience on a luxury ship.
Celebrity are wonderful!
We choose this particular cruise because of its itinerary. The ship is lovely and revamped but being a smaller ship no crazy golf or similar for younger families.
A great cruise. Everything was great on the ship and the places we visited were great!
Had a wonderful cruise. Ports were a long way from sightseeing so a lot of time in coaches going to places. Still really enjoyed it!
We booked a bespoke trip with Planet Cruise, based around 12 days on the Millennium. Every aspect of the holiday was lovely and knitted together seamlessly. The hotels that were recommended to us were lovely and to a good standard all for a great price. The Millennium is a nice ship in a good condition. The quality of everything was good, and it rarely felt crowded and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere.
The hotel we were put in , the taxi service, and the ship were all 5 star.
