Fred. Olsen announces new launch into the river cruise market

19 May 2017 | by Nikki Osborne
Fred. Olsen has unveiled news of the launch of its new river cruise programme. Fred. Olsen is well known for its traditional ocean cruises for the predominantly British market. Its ships are small and intimate enough to sail to places that offer captivating scenery, historical wonders and culture-rich cities. Given the itinerary-rich nature of its cruises, we find it no surprise that Fred. Olsen will continue to expand into the ever-popular river cruise market.

Debuting with 156-guest ship Brabant, you can set sail on some of Europe’s most beautiful rivers with Fred. Olsen as early as 5th April 2018 for a duration of 5 – 25 nights.

The Sales & Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen, comments: “At Fred. Olsen, we specialise in creating a ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere on our ocean cruises, and we are proud to be bringing our many decades of expertise and rich sailing heritage to the river cruise market for the very first time. In fact, the name Brabant harks back to Fred. Olsen’s historic passenger ship of the same name from the 1920s.”

Guests can rest assured that the new Fred. Olsen river cruises will be underpinned by the usual high standards, award-winning customer service and understated elegance that they have come to expect of our ocean-going offer. We firmly believe that we have crafted the perfect formula to ensure that our new river cruise guests are able to get the most out of their holiday with Fred. Olsen.”

In line with the customary hallmarks of Fred. Olsen, Brabant is smaller than most traditional river cruise ships and has the feel of a country house hotel to reflect British taste. British taste is consistent throughout including all customer service and shore excursions and transactions will be conducted in Pound Sterling. Expansive panoramic views will be available to enjoy in most rooms as well as juliet balconies.

As always, Fred. Olsen is so confident in their ability to satisfy guests that it continues to offer Fred. Olsen’s enjoyment promise, where if you decide that the cruise is not for you within 24 hours of sailing on a cruise of 5 nights or more, then return flights back to the UK from the next port will be offered free of charge as well as the cost of the cruise refunded.

Why not explore Europe’s most exquisite waterways, valleys and canals with Fred. Olsen. Pre-register your interest to us now so that we can guarantee a cabin on your favourite river itinerary or let us help you make the all-important decision over which river to sail on.
