The Haven is amazing
This review relates to a cruise from Miami on the Norwegian Encore, through the Panama Canal, via Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Mexico, concluding at Los Angeles. The Norwegian Encore is a magnificent ship. Modern, spacious and with plenty of choice for eating and entertainment. The ship had less than capacity passengers and there was plenty of room to relax. We were fortunate to have a balcony cabin which was well appointed with a super king sized bed, plenty of wardrobe and storage, a coffee machine, tv etc. Our package included drinks, some WiFi, money off tours and 5 nights of speciality dining. The food in the complementary restaurants was first class, as was the food in all the specialist restaurants we tried. We didn’t manage to get to any of the shows as the timings clashed with our choice of dining times. However, the music and entertainment about the ship in the various bars and lounges was varied and extremely good. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. The only negative point I would make is that upon disembarking at Los Angeles, we found the process disjointed and a bit chaotic. This meant that a tour we had booked around L/A ensign up at the airport, was unable to leave at the appointed time and was delayed by 2 hours. This meant that some aspects of the tour had to be shortened or abandoned. In addition I found Planet Cruise a great company to deal with, very accommodating and efficient, keeping me updated at all times, particularly with the uncertainty caused by covid.
