We liked the look and the layout of the ship with lots of nice areas to relax while at sea. One negative a nasty sewage smell hang about deck two by the gallery. Overall the food was good being pescatarian good fish choice. Good salad choice at the buffet. Wonderful breakfast plenty of cerials fruit and those lovely omlettes. Christmas dinner was outstanding well done nice treats. Portions were up and down as vegs were sometimes lacking but found we could ask for a small bowl of peas or other veg rather than french beans.
Our cabin was tatty and showing its age. The staff were wonderful as always and the entertainment was good. The Black tie nights are becoming a pain for those who do want to participate. It means you are excluded not only from the restaurants but also from some of the entertainment.
Main dining room was very good, we had freedom dining and always opted for a table for 2, it meant a wait but never more than an hour. The wait staff were all very good and well versed in what we had. Quality was good and although less choice than previous it was sufficient to find something we liked. We also used it for breakfast and lunch (sea days) and preferred it to the buffet. The buffet seemed a bit crowded at most times, food not always as hot as I would have liked but had a fair choice. We enjoyed Beach House and food excellent, as was Ocean Grill and worth the upgrade HOWEVER Sindu I am afraid was not worth the extra. In fact the main was no better than a curry I had in the buffet at lunch the day previous. I felt similar on Arvia so in future won't waste my money on this option. All excursions were good, well organised and informative. The canal light festival in Amsterdam very good and the highlight.
Great sized ship for the more intimate, personal experience. Staff are friendly and engaging. The Ship has a good variety of lively entertainment outlets, bars and lounges for quieter moments and speciality dining establishments.
A fantastic experience. From the moment we entered Southampton docks, handing over our car, dropping off luggage and into passport control and checking in and onto Arcadia - it all went smoothly and easily with great support from staff who made us feel very special. The three night cruise to Bruges and back was a delight. Full of activities to appeal to all. Our cabin was spacious and clean and well serviced. The catering on the ship was excellent. The town of Bruges was a highlight but the cruise experience was a very specual treat. We were kept up to date before the cruise and advised what to do throught the P&O website and our account. We were first time cruisers invited by good friends and we would recommend and are likely to do another.
Lovely ship/suite. Food variable - often luke warm. Breakfast in buffet was awful - toast like cardboard. Staff miserable, basically going through the motions, no eye contact- felt we were an inconvenience.
The ship was very cold in all the venues except for Ocean Grill
From the moment we parked the car we were greeted by assistance. It was a very smooth transition to then be sitting on board having our first drink. The cabin was spacious with lots of storage. Each day we were left with a varied itinerary. The evening shows were brilliant. Booking an evening meal was easy. We were a group of 6 and we managed to get a table booked to being seated in less than 10 minutes. The food for the normal appetite was very varied. But lacking for people with gluten intolerance, which one of our party was, leaving her frustrated and upset. It was nice to be on an adult only holiday as I work in a school. It was our first but won’t be our last cruise.
This was a 30 night Canada and US cruise Arcadia is a very friendly ship, but in need of a bit of an update, the entire crew are fantastic, so helpful and always happy to chat and make you welcomeShore excursions very well organised Decent selection in shopsA few minor negatives, television channels in cabin are very limited and boring. No bedside lights to be able to read
Our excursion was a bit of a disaster as they didn't take us to all the places on the itinerary. The food was good but sometimes we felt it was style over taste.
