A Celebrity Apex cruise is a holiday that all the family can enjoy thanks to Celebrity Cruises' Camp at Sea programme. Designed for those aged between 3-17 years, activities are divided into four categories, meaning kids are guaranteed to find something that they love.
You'll be sure to find a sun-soaked spot alongside the main pool or the adults-only Solarium pool, where you can relax and float in luxury during days at sea on Apex.
From complimentary dining venues to exceptional speciality restaurants, dining onboard Celebrity Apex is a cruise highlight. With casual and formal options alike day or night as well, mealtimes can be as much of an occasion as you want them to be.
From relaxing by the pool to getting stuck into lawn games, there's never a dull moment thanks to Celebrity Cruises' Apex. By day The Club is a real highlight where you'll find a chilled out spot but by night transforms into a high-energy nightclub. In addition, the theatre provides crowd-pleasing spectacles with a variety of performances for all.
If you're looking for something laidback, there are also a variety of bars and lounges to make yourself comfortable on Apex. Taste handcrafted cocktails at Eden Bar, enjoy craft beers and delicious wines at Craft Social Bar or simply watch the stunning views at the Sunset Bar.
Cruising Celebrity Apex to the Canary Islands for 11 nights was overall a very good experience. The food was excellent, particularly the buffet food, was extensive and of high quality. We tried one speciality restaurant and it was of excellent quality. We were put off from more speciality dining as it seemed very very expensive indeed. We were put off from booking more excursions as they seemed to be disproportionately expensive too. We did go on one in Gran Canaria, which was a four hour bus tour. It didn't go very far from the ship and was effectively a shirt walking tour round a local market, with a short trip up a hill in Las Palmas for a photo opportunity of the harbour, followed by the visit to the Aquarium. However, while the tour guide was OK, we could have walked to aquarium from the ship, within 5 minutes. The aquarium was excellent, but we could have done this independently much cheaper than was offered by Celebrity. Another thing that disappointed us, was the slight deception of the mini bar, and water and crisps that were left in our room. We almost opened them on our arrival, as they looked like they were complimentary, but the water wasn't, nor were the crisps, which were marked up at an eye watering £6 per packet!!! It was also odd that there was coke in the mini bar, which was free on our drinks package, but not if we'd have taken it from the fridge in our room. This seemed like a bit of a cheap trick by Celebrity, not in keeping with their premium brand. Aside.from these relatively minor issues, the ship, the crew and itinerary were very good. I will be using Planet Cruise and Celebrity again - we put a deposit down while on board and will be speaking to Planet Cruise soon about our future options.
The ship the Celebrity Apex is beautiful and we really enjoyed our time on board. The food was consistently very good even in the buffet, with plenty of choice. The shows and evening entertainment were good but we found that there wasn't as many activities during the day which was a shame as 5 of our days were sea days so we would have expected more to do on those days. It was a little difficult as well finding a nice spot to sit sometimes. There are plenty of public spaces but as ours was a cold weather cruise to Scotland and Iceland most people were inside, not being able to take advantage of the ample outdoor space. I can imagine that the experience would be altogether different sailing in a warm climate. The staff were fabulous. Our cabin Stewardess Elizabeth was always ready with a cheery greeting and she did a wonderful job looking after us.
This was our first cruise, had no expectations. We had a wonderful time. Because it was our first cruise didn’t know what is free and what is not. Now we have some experience should enjoy more on the next cruise hopefully in the very near future.
Apex is such a great ship!
