The cruise was excellent, but there a few shortcomings in regards to the other parts of the overall experience: Our hotel in Athens (Ibis Styles Routes), although clean, tidy and efficient, was not really what I would describe as four star. The staff were all brilliant, but the location is in the middle of a commercial area surrounded by motorcycle dealers and car repair shops. the view from our room window was a derelict building with a skip outside. Everything went well with the cruise, but on our last day we were called to leave the ship at approximately 8:00 am, but our “private” taxi was not booked until 10:20. There were no facilities in the terminal and I’m guessing maybe 10 chairs to share between the 2100 people leaving the ship. I asked the gentleman who was supposedly organising the taxis if we could bring forward our pickup time and was simply told “no”! I then waited until the taxi office opened at 9:00 and called to ask the same. The lady said that she would call our driver to ask him if he could get to us earlier. The bottom line is that he didn’t turn up at all and we ended up sharing a minibus with two other groups at 11:00, some three hours after we had been kicked off the ship.
First time cruise, enjoyed very much, friendly atmosphere, lots to do, good service. Bit crowded and loud around the pool area but plenty of alternative quiet spots to relax, reccomended.
Overall a good cruise.
