Disney Cruise Line's 2020 Plans Released

28 Sep 2018 | by Helen Williams

The popular, family-friendly, and full of fun Disney Cruise Line have made some exciting announcements regarding their 2020 itineraries, allowing guests to start planning ahead for their next dream holiday. With features like more ex-US options, and some new and sorely-missed destinations, no doubt fans of the cruise line will be thrilled when they find out the details about what the 2020 holidays have in store. Read on to discover more.

New Orleans will Feature as a Homeport

Paying homage to the city that inspired The Princess and The Frog, in 2020, the folks at Disney Cruise Line have decided to use the Big Easy as a homeport for Disney Wonder. This means cruisers can easily add a few days on to their holiday to spend some time exploring the famous Louisianan city, tasting some incredible food, and relaxing in an atmosphere full of friendly people, jazz music, and vibrant colours. Fans of the Disney film will, of course, enjoy seeing the same iconic New Orleans sights that Tiana and Naveen pass by all the time.

Disney Cruise Line will be Returning to Hawaii

After a five year break, in 2020 Disney Cruise Line will once again be visiting the beautiful islands of Hawaii. This destination has been missed by both crew and guests, so we were super excited to find out that Disney Wonder will be offering two Hawaii itineraries – one from Vancouver to Hawaii, and one from Hawaii to Vancouver. In this blissful destination, guests will be able to take in the gorgeous views from Haleakala Crater on Maui, relax on Waikiki beach, Oahu, explore the forests and waterfalls of Kauai, and much, much more.

More Cruise Options Departing from Florida

The final big announcement is that Disney Cruise Line will be offering more cruises departing from Florida, from both Miami and Canaveral ports. The sunshine state is a fabulous holiday destination, and once again having cruises start here means it will be easy for guests to spend a few days before embarkation discovering the beautiful beaches, fantastic shopping, and of course the Disney World Parks in Florida. Cruises departing from here will then go on to the sunny islands of the Caribbean, and Disney’s exclusive Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.
