These are exciting times for Silversea Cruises, who have announced a whole range of changes to some of the ships in their fleet. These have been extensively considered, and have been designed to greatly enhance the experience of all cruisers who travel on one of their luxury cruises.
Silver Spirit is to be Extended
The first big announcement is that Silver Spirit is due to be extended in March 2018. She will go from having a capacity of 540, to 608 guests – making her the largest in the fleet. The public areas, including bars, lounges, and restaurants, will all be revamped, and there will be an increase in dining varieties for passengers to enjoy.
Suites will also be renovated, and will boast more technological and entertainment options for guests. There will also be more seating, a larger pool deck, and a new space for outdoor aerobics. The beautiful Zagara Spa onboard will wow guests, with its fantastic facilities, including nine stunning treatment rooms, an acupuncture suite, and more.
Silver Cloud is to become an Expedition Ship
Silver Cloud will be taken out of action for several months, and will be converted into an all-new, luxury exposition ship. Her capacity will decrease – from 296 to 244 passengers – thereby giving her a more intimate and personal feel onboard. Having said this, the ship will then boast one of the highest guest/space ratios on an expedition ship, and will also have some brilliant new features.
Cruisers will enjoy 5 different dining options, all ocean-view suites, the expertise of 19 dedicated explorers, and the highest amount of zodiacs to use.
In other news . . .
In keeping with Silversea’s focus on destinations, and the true exploration of the distinctly different places in our world, the cruise line has teamed up with world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry. Famed for his 1984 photograph, ‘Afghan Girl’, Steve has a unique skill for capturing scenes from all over the globe. His images are widely considered to near enough transport the viewer to another place, and have them come away with the desire to properly discover that place for themselves.
Steve will visit some incredible - and often thought-provoking - Silversea destinations, and capture a range of settings and subjects along the way.
