All the crew were amazing - we felt really well looked after. We were impressed with how clean the ship was kept and the friendliness of all the staff. Their attention to detail was also fantastic in looking after my wife's diabetic meal requirements.
Poor food, undercooked pork with blood coming out of it, nowhere to sit in the evenings, lifts not working, not enough sun beds put out, the rest remained tied up to the ship. The ship itself looked tired with rust and parts of the ceiling about to fall down or broken, I was very disappointed after sailing with tui five times and not had any problems on all ships before. Compared with the Discovery the Dream is rubbish and also not being able to dock in Monte Carlo was a disappointment .
The excursions were difficult because the comfort breaks were few and far between and a long way to walk. Most people were older and some would be on water tablets and as one gets older toilet stops are needed especially after an early start. It spoilt the tours for me. My husband needs disabled toilets too and they were very difficult to find. We asked about comfort stops when booking and were assured there would be plenty.
Excellent crew. Nice cabin, with plenty of storage space, well soundproofed. Always enjoy Tui's shows but was disappointed this time with choice of material. Dancers/ singers always gave their best.
The Excursions to:- Barcelona on your own:- No guidance to the area around drop off point. 3 hours is not long enough. Given map. Marseille on your own:- Put in complaint, Guide no help at drop off, no guidance, no time to see the place. No map. Waste of time. Emerald Coast:- Programme changed on arrival at the ship. We did not know most of the small places we visited were closed as their short summer season had finished. If we had known we would of cancelled. Florence on your own:- Great, Guide helpful on route. Map given. Time to explore the city.
Their was plenty of room on the ship even though all the cabins were full, it was an adult cruise only which helped.
.
We spent £2500 on the trip. £2100 on the cruise and £450 on excursions. I have to tell you that the excursions are a scam. It said 6h in Barcelona. The truth is that it's 3h drive back and forth and 3h to explore the city. You have no idea where the bus will leave you so you can't make any plans in advance. On all excursions you are basically dumped somewhere in the city, you rush like a maniac to see ONE thing and it's already time to go back. It was a complete waste of money. The second reason why excursions are a scam is because the ship docks hours away from the city you are visiting. It's not like you dock in Barcelona and you can leave the ship to explore on your own.
The second day on the ship was my 70th birthday and the staff on board made me feel extra special. On return to my cabin I was surprised to find my bed freshly made up with towels in the shape of different animals, and a bottle of drink on ice. At dinner I had ordered a birthday cake which was brought out to me after I had eaten and the lovely staff sung happy birthday to me. The activity and entertainment on board was more than I expected and I will surely recommend this cruise to others. The staff on board were very helpful and made sure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
Over all -very good. Certain things lacked-like lack of info when going on shore at change over day. No notice on where the passengers on day tris would disembark from. Also lack of shampoo/body lotion which we were not informed about to bring on. Wine selection on all inclusive -without premier-were below average. All in all-knowing this-I would go again
