The MSC Lirica is one of MSC Cruise’s Lirica class of cruise ships, a series of four ships all built in the first decade of the new millennium. Built in 2003 and launched in 2004, she is more than 800 feet in length, and carries more than 1,500 passengers, and 700 crew members. During the winter months, the MSC Lirica cruises the coastal waters of the United Arab Emirates, with an itinerary that includes Dubai, Oman, and Abu Dhabi. In the summer she cruises the Mediterranean, with week-long cruises that stop at ports in Italy, France, and Spain.
MSC ships are known for their understated elegance of décor, and the Lirica is no exception. When you board the ship, the sweeping staircases and airy open design of the reception area are your first clue that you’re in for a real treat, and the gorgeous design of the ship is evident everywhere, including in the beautifully designed and well-appointed cabins and suites with colorful art prints. Take your pick of interior or ocean view cabins, including cabins designed to be accessible for people with disabilities, or choose a balcony suite for an extra touch of luxury, and your own private paradise for peaceful relaxation. MSC provides upgrade packages for both cabins and suites, with optional extras such as 24-hour room service, priority seating for restaurant dining, spa sessions, and thermal suite access.
Passengers on board the MSC Lirica have access to several dining options. For casual dining at almost any time of the day or night, there’s the buffet menu—available 20 hours a day, there’s always a quick snack or a meal at the ready. There are two indoor restaurants, L’Ippocampo and La Bussola, each with a fantastic selection of fine dishes, ranging from traditional Mediterranean dishes, to international gourmet-style fare, with food made using only the freshest and most delectable ingredients. For open-air dining, make a reservation La Pergola, which offers the same tasty food and impeccable service, with the addition of fresh air and a gorgeous view to whet your appetite.
Alternatively, speciality restaurants include Le Bistrot, Jia Yao, and Kaito Sushi Bar. Or, if you feel like a tasty snack or meal while relaxing in the privacy of your own cabin or suite, there’s always room service.
The MSC Lirica provides passengers with a great range of amenities, and there’s plenty of variety on board, with something for everyone to enjoy. If you love to start your day with exercise there’s a well-stocked gym, as well as an outdoor power walking track on the upper deck.
Spend an hour or two sunbathing and take a refreshing dip in the pool, or book a relaxing massage or beauty treatment at the spa—the choice is yours. Check out the internet café to catch up with the news at home, or even go shopping at the Rodeo Drive shopping arcade.
There’s even more entertainment in the evenings, at the Las Vegas Casino and the fabulous Broadway Theatre, or simply spend a quiet evening at one of the ship’s bars, each with its own distinctive décor and theme. You can dance the night away at the Blue Club Disco, or turn in early for a refreshing night’s sleep, and wake up in the morning for another fun-filled day.
