Like the midnight sun casting a rich, warm glow over everything you see, the Norwegian Sun will brighten your long awaited holiday, leaving you with gauzy memories wrapped in golden light and happy days. One of Norwegian Cruise Line’s first and most innovative cruise ships, Norwegian Sun was built to embody NCL’s “Freestyle Cruising” concept which allows passengers to take in all that this fantastic cruise ship has to offer. With a truly astonishing array of dining options, activities, and much more, Norwegian Sun is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a laid-back cruise which can be as relaxing or as exciting as you desire. A 2018 refurbishment has left the ship in the best condition of its career, with plenty of bright, cheerful colours to keep you smiling, spacious suites, and a crew dedicated to giving you the cruise of a lifetime.

Having received rave reviews from passengers and critics alike throughout its time on the NCL fleet, the Norwegian Sun remains a top choice for experienced and first-time cruise passengers. The ship features flexible, affordable accommodation for everyone (whether they’re single travellers or large families) and so many things to do that your only struggle will be deciding how to spend your day! The Norwegian Sun also has a diverse cruising schedule, with stops including the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, the North American Pacific Coast, and up into Alaska. If you want to become a world traveller and have the time of your life while you sail the open ocean, the Norwegian Sun is the right ship for you.

When it first debuted in 2001, industry professionals and critics were amazed at the sheer number of dining choices - nine at the outset - available onboard. Today, there are even more options available, with many being included in the initial cruise fare as well as a range of speciality restaurants which entail a surcharge.

Complimentary Dining Venues

There are two main dining rooms, the Seven Seas and the Four Seasons, the latter of which has spectacular panoramic views of the sea and sky. Also included are the Garden Cafe, for light and family-friendly meals to help you keep up your energy, the Sports Bar, for classic treats such as burgers and fish & chips, the Great Outdoors Cafe where you'll find burgers and hot dogs in a great outdoor venue, and the Topsiders Bar & Grill which offers a similar menu.

Speciality Dining Venues

With eight speciality restaurants to choose from, there are plenty of options for a special occasion or a different kind of evening;

  • La Cucina - fans of Italians food will love the authentic atmosphere and classic pizza and pasta dishes
  • Atrium Cafe - great for a coffee or a cocktail and light bite while people watching in the heart of the ship
  • Le Bistro - head here for elegant French and Mediterranean dishes

Even the most beautiful cruise ship won’t hold your attention for long; luckily, the Norwegian Sun has plenty of entertainment options to keep you occupied when you’re tired of watching the clear blue ocean glide by beneath you. There are four magnificent Broadway-esque shows to choose from;

  • What the World Needs Now - a production which celebrates the music of renowned songwriter, Burt Bacharach

Those who are looking to keep up with a health and fitness regime on holiday will appreciate the onboard jogging track, basketball/volleyball court, pools, and golf driving net.
Likewise, those who want to spend time relaxing and rejuvenating will love the beautiful Mandara Spa, where you can indulge in a range of treatments from facials to acupuncture.
As always, all the basics are there, from indulgent hot tubs and cool pools outside to plenty of indoor areas like a library, art gallery, internet cafe, and shopping opportunities.
Other options include the Video Zone where you can play arcade games with all the family and for younger cruises the kids and teen clubs. On the other hand, adults can spend time in the fantastic and exhilarating casino, the Bliss Ultra Lounge nightclub, or one of the many other sociable and atmospheric bars. The Champagne Bar is a particular favourite, with its premium selection of drinks, and elegant caviar and pate dishes on the side.
