Customer reviews for Renaissance
First timer and was pleasantly surprised. Huge appreciation to ALL the staff who were friendly, caring, professional and efficient. Incredible service throughout. The ship was meticulously clean and the dining was high quality and varied. Great value for money and would definitely go on Renaissance again 5*
This was excellent. The only thing we did nit like was the last day. It was too long from leaving ship to flight. They would very etter organiseing a short toure of Barbados.
Sorry this review is so negative but so much was unacceptable about this cruise. The cabin was freezing - the A/C control could not be altered or turned off. We had to get blankets. Certain parts of the ship (Massalia Longe and piano bar were freezing cold). The curtains in the showers and by the window were hanging off the hooks and it was overall in poor condition. Food in the restaurant was nice, but the buffet offering was limited, repetitive and very poor quality. Service was frustrating. Very rarely given what was ordered. Staff struggled to understand English and on occasion rude in the coffee bar on the 8th deck. Disappointed that on an all-inclusive cruise cakes and ice-cream were charged extra, and that a shot of cassis for our prosecco was charged to us despite having the full drinks package. However, the evening shows were very good and enjoyable. The themes were varied and the cast clearly worked hard. Overall, it felt like a budget cruise compared to cruise companies we usually travel with. This is OK if you are paying less, but it felt like Ambassador didn't really care. Nobody has bothered to change the branding in the lifts and all the clocks around the ship have different times on them. Curtains hanging off in staterooms. Small things to fix.
Even though the ship was old and some of the finishing were tired, it was cozy friendly and simply quaint. We picked the cruise to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. There was a slight hiccup with sending us breakfast in bed on the day of anniversary and unfortunately we had to cancel. Nonetheless,We had an absolutely fantastic time on enjoying the food, the surroundings, the helpful staff, the courses and entertainment. And because the ship was small, we made friends with happy passengers . We would highly recommend this Cruise.
