The Carnival Freedom is aptly named - this is a vessel that represents just that for many people. For the teens, it's freedom from the adults for an evening, as they can enjoy time in their own nightclub aboard. For the adults, it's freedom of responsibility as they lie back on a sunlounger and toy with the idea of hopping into the pool. The health-conscious will nurture the freedom of being able to while away an afternoon in the world-class fitness and spa facilities. And for those who love a bit of freedom from reality, the zany architecture will no doubt aid that particular desire.
Copper accents adorn many of the fixtures, whilst all over the ship, banks of lights pulsate and constantly change colour. The whole experience is a bit like being inside a fantastical wonderland.
Throughout the ship, there are four full-meal dining venues for you to explore. Chic and Posh are situated midship and aft respectively and serve up a wide selection of dishes.
Freedom Restaurant on the Lido Deck handles the breakfast buffet and casual diners at dinnertime, while Sun King is a more upscale affair, with gorgeous fixtures and fittings and an exotic menu. Be sure to check out the Asian window with Japanese, Chinese and Thai choices - these change every day.
If you can be certain of one thing aboard the Carnival Freedom, it's this: you won't be bored for a moment during your time here.
There is much fun to be had in the many live entertainment facilities, which feature everything from stand-up comedy and classical music to vaudeville and gospel.
A particularly nice touch is the Seaside Theatre, which features films every evening alongside concerts and TV shows during the day. And, of course, freshly popped popcorn is served alongside the film as standard.
Dress code during the day is as casual as you like, and there's not a huge amount of change in the evenings - bar the fact shorts and T-shirts are not permitted at dinner in any of the venues.
