Norway's incredible landscapes are renowned for being undeniably characteristic and utterly awe-inspiring.
Many an intrepid traveller has been stunned into silence while gazing upon Eidfjord from afar, which has plenty to offer in the way of natural beauty.
This splendid city is located in a fold of spectacular scenery that might well have come straight from a Lord of the Rings film.
Luxuriant fjord landscapes and blue-green fjords. Rolling hills of soft green grass that give way to steep cliffs, plunging down into deep caverns of incredible scale. Spectacular mountains topped with extraordinary white caps. It's a sight to behold all right.
You'll undoubtedly want to get out and explore some of this, and some high points include the Viking Graves that date all the way back to the Iron Age, as well as the astounding Voringfossen Waterfall. Eidfjord Old Church is worth a visit as well.
But while there is plenty of natural wonderment, don't forget to explore Eidfjord itself, which boasts plenty in the way of shopping and entertainment.
