Set to launch in 2020, Le Bellot is one of Ponant Cruises’ six exploration yachts named after famous expeditionists. Christened in honour of arctic explorer Joseph René Bellot, Le Bellot fittingly specialises in white circle expeditions such as the Norwegian fjords and Antarctica.

As well as a nod to the past, with their generation of sleek luxury yachts, Ponant pioneers toward the future. Le Bellot has many features designed to make her a truly sustainable mode of cruising. Examples include an ice-breaking hull, cutting-edge wastewater technology, and devices that prevent oil and air pollution in the fragile environments Le Bellot will explore.

Le Bellot is a small, intimate ship designed with the concept of feeling like guests are actually on their own private luxury yacht. She is a home away from home you can enjoy in true comfort as you see the world in exceptional style. Le Bellot has just 92 cabins and suites on 4 decks. Every stateroom has a private balcony while suites have their own terrace. Being a smaller ship, Le Bellot allows closer contact with the marine environment and some elements of the ship are conceived to facilitate interaction with the sea.

Le Bellot has two restaurants and a panoramic Lounge. The Lido Grill is located on deck 3 and it welcomes 70 guests, with an Al Fresco dining option. The Restaurant on deck 4 caters mainly for breakfast and lunch, with several buffet stations and table service for other dishes. Finally, The Panoramic Lounge offers an afternoon tea service, but coffee and tea are complimentary and available 24-hours per day. No matter which Le Bellot restaurant you decide to dine in, you will receive Ponant’s famous six-star service and French gastronomy.

Le Bellot is well equipped for the needs of the modern cruiser. As well as Wi-Fi access, there are several other features that prove Ponant to be pioneers of cruising. One of the highlights of Ponant’s expedition yacht class is the relationship with the sea in which they sail. This philosophy has been realised in the rear of the ship, where guests will find a risible launch platform at the terrace. From here, passengers can access zodiacs, paddle boards, and kayaks to get into the water and close to nature. Here there is also a fantastic infinity pool, merging ship to sea in another way. Another venue onboard Le Bellot where you are immersed in the wonders of the ocean is the revolutionary Blue Eye lounge. This multi-sensory lounge is furnished with vibrating seating and speakers that pick up audio from the marine life about the ship; Blue Eye is the perfect place to get back to nature while relaxing in luxury.

Other entertainment onboard includes the theatre, which hosts not only musical shows and films in the evenings, but also events and lectures presented by expert guides and specialists. The presentations are designed to educate guests on the fascinating cultures and natural phenomena encountered each day. There is also a superb collection of informative books in the cosy library, as well as board games, computers, and a Nintendo Wii.

As well as the infinity pool, Le Bellot boasts plenty of spa facilities. With added treatments also available to book in the spa and salon, guests can relax and unwind in the steam room and Turkish bath. Meanwhile, for those wanting to remain active between adventures, there is a fully equipped gym.
