Le Jacques Cartier

Le Jacques Cartier is one of six luxury yachts in Ponant Cruises’ explorer class fleet. Debuting in 2020, Le Jacques Cartier is designed with an emphasis on maximising the relationship between the ocean and the onboard experience of her guests. As a result, Le Jacques Cartier has several features to make sure you make the most of your luxury expedition to a variety of destinations, including both the arctic, Antarctic, Norwegian fjords, and even the mighty Amazon. With limited space for only 184 passengers and purpose-built icebreaking hulls, Le Jacques Cartier is perfect for intimate explorer cruises.

In spite of Le Jacques Cartier’s relatively small size in comparison to most ocean-going cruise ships, there are actually three restaurants onboard. Each provides a fantastic level of cuisine that you can only expect from the world’s only truly French cruise line. In the Restaurant you will be able to sit in comfort and enjoy the breath-taking views through the floor-to-ceiling windows, or the open terrace, while enjoying a buffet lunch. The Lido Grill also serves al-fresco dining should you wish to enjoy your dinner out in the elements, while the Panoramic Lounge is a fantastic venue for lunch and afternoon tea.

All Le Jacques Cartier’s entertainment and recreation facilities are provided in mind of the cruise’s destination. During the day, passengers can go to the rear of the ship and step onto the risible launch platform. From here, you can take kayaks, zodiacs, and various other watercrafts to go out and truly get close to the amazing nature and beauty you are surrounded by. Above this launch pad is the infinity pool, where guests will lose sight of where the ocean and pool meet. Meanwhile, inside Le Jacques Cartier there is a stylish and comfortable theatre, where various talks and presentations are held. These are provided by experts and guides all about the destinations you will see. This is a fantastic way to make the most of your enriching travels with Ponant. If you’re looking for some cosy, quiet time but still want to maintain that feeling of getting back to nature, a visit to the Blue Eye is simply a must. This unique room is found only onboard Ponants’ explorer yachts, and is designed to give you the feel of the ocean depths from a comfy lounge. It has outside microphones which pick up any marine life noise in a 5 miles radius, and casts them not only into the speakers but also causes a vibration in the seating. There is also a strategic camera beamed onto the walls.

As well as the outdoor infinity pool, guest onboard Le Jacques Cartier can make the most of the spa facilities. These include a steam room and Turkish bath as well as a salon and massage room available for booked appointments. For those who enjoy keeping up with a personal fitness regime, there is a well-equipped gym onboard as well.
