MS Fridtjof Nansen

Named after the renowned Norwegian explorer and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, MS Fridtjof Nansen is the sister ship of Hurtigruten Cruises' MS Roald Amundsen. The vessels have been innovatively designed using a battery-hybrid powered propulsion system, and are considered to be true, next generation expedition ships.

The décor onboard is fresh and contemporary, in classic Scandinavian design. Expect comfort and style with neutral colours and beautiful natural materials, such as birch, oak, granite, and wool. This relaxed ambience onboard is consistent throughout all public areas as well as cabins – which are all outward facing. 50% of cabins boast private balconies, and those in the aft even have outdoor private Jacuzzis.

Facilities on the ship are simple yet deluxe. Where dining is concerned, choose from three venues; the main restaurant, Aune, a less formal option, Fredheim, and the speciality restaurant, Lindstrom. Each of these serve a range of traditional Nordic cuisine and other international dishes, made using ingredients local to the ports on each itinerary.

Onboard you’ll also find the useful and interesting Nansen Science Centre; a place where you can discover more about the places you’ll explore on your cruise, and also headquarters to the expedition team. You can also spend time in the Explorer’s Lounge, the Wellness Centre, the gym, the observations decks, or of course – the Jacuzzis and infinity pool.

MS Fridtjof Nansen is also equipped with Blueye underwater drones, kayaks, and expedition boats to help enhance your discovery experience with Hurtigruten.
