First and foremost, each ship in this impressive fleet is equipped with state-of-the-art wellness facilities – including a stunning sauna and well-equipped fitness room – for you to take advantage of. You’ll also find the presentations and lectures hosted by resident teams of experts, complemented by Science Centres – spaces onboard where you’ll find science equipment and further information to deepen your understanding of the region around you.

The entertainment available aboard HX Expeditions’ ships is as unique as the itineraries and experiences on offer with each exciting voyage; you’re not going to find Broadway-style stage productions and video arcades here, but you will find plenty of places to sit back and relax with refreshments while relishing in the stunning scenery surrounding you – a calm and casual experience perfectly complimenting the action-packed shore excursions on offer.
Throughout each voyage, you’ll also find a team of resident experts delivering informative presentations and interesting lectures about the world around you – educational entertainment aimed at enriching your experience both onboard and ashore.
Dining
Dining aboard HX Expeditions is a delight, with delicious dishes – inspired by local cuisines and made with sustainably-sourced ingredients – available in stylish restaurants wherever you are in the world. With both casual and formal dining venues available, you’ll be able to indulge in some fantastic food whatever your mood; and, with HX Expeditions being specialists in Scandinavian cuisine, the impressive menus available feature some of the finest seafood dishes on the seas.
While the specific availability of each dining venue varies from ship to ship, you’ll find the following restaurants aboard ships in the HX Expeditions fleet:
- Lindstrøm - fine dining in this stylish restaurant is included for suite guests, and available at an additional cost for everyone else onboard
- Restaurant Fredheim - a casual dining venue serving street food throughout lunch and into the evening, this venue doubles as a comfortable social meeting spot
- Restaurant Aune - this casual buffet-style dining venue serves dishes inspired by Scandinavian cuisine throughout the day
- Beagle Restaurant - a unique dining venue serving a variety of culinary experiences and dishes made with locally-sourced organic ingredients
Family
If your little ones are ready for some big adventures, sailing with HX Expeditions is a great idea. However, there are a few things worth considering if you’re looking at embarking on a HX Expeditions holiday as a family with children.
HX Expeditions does not provide any child care, kid’s clubs, or family orientated activities onboard. And, children under 5 are not allowed on itineraries sailing to Antarctica and South Georgia. For safety reasons, children under 12 will only be able to participate in select shore excursions.
So, while HX Expeditions is happy to welcome children onboard and guests of all ages can enjoy the amenities available, there are a few things worth considering if you’re planning on travelling with younger children.
