Italy cruises

Tucked just inside the Slovenian border, the Italian port of Trieste is an interesting city to explore. Amongst its attractions, three of the most popular are the Austrian Quarter, a reminder of the old Austro-Hungarian empire, the San Giusto Cathedral and the Miramare Castle, set in beautiful parkland overlooking the sea. While you're here, try to leave some time to leisurely enjoy the historic coffee houses which are said to serve some of the finest coffee in Italy. Finish off your time in Trieste with a journey of culinary discovery, whether this be with the typical Italian dishes that this region do so well, or by being a little more adventurous and sampling some of the local specialities, jota, a hearty stew, and Strucolo de pomi, a twist on Applestrudel, being two standout dishes.
