Amsterdam cruise ship is Holland America Line’s Pacific flagship, with voyages around Australasia, Asia, and the South Pacific, Alaska, and the Caribbean her specialities. She also makes a grand world voyage—of up to 115 nights—once a year, with ports of call in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australasia and the South Pacific, and South America.

The Holland America Line is well known for the valuable art collections displayed on each of its ships, and Amsterdam is no exception, adorned with some particularly special pieces. One of these is a stunning sculpture—“The Four Seasons”—which was created by Dutch sculptors Jan Eloy and Leo Brom for SS Niew Amsterdam, a Holland America ship whose maiden voyage was in 1938. This nod to Amsterdam’s history is a fantastic addition to the ship’s collection, along with a series of bronzes displayed at the Lido pool, but the most impressive work of art on board surely has to be the magnificent astrolabe clock tower, the Planeto Astrolabium. This nine-metre tall timepiece is located in Amsterdam’s central three-storey atrium, and is set on a floor of marble and glass. Each of the tower’s four faces tracks a different measurement of time—world time, ship time, planetary movement, and constellations.

Travellers onboard Amsterdam will enjoy fantastic dining and entertainment opportunities, and comfortable staterooms with quality beds and linens, and a range of other amenities. Suite passengers have access to the services of a personal concierge, as well as the exclusive and luxurious Neptune Lounge.

Whatever your dining preferences, you’re sure to find something to suit you onboard Amsterdam. At the La Fontaine Dining Room you’ll enjoy a fabulous five-course continental menu, with options for vegetarians and low-carb eating, and a wine list full of stellar selections.

The Pinnacle Grill offers delicious beef and seafood dishes, with excellent highly-rated wines, and the luxurious décor you’d expect at a sophisticated evening dining venue. Then there’s Canaletto Restaurant, an intimate dining experience that features a sumptuous Italian menu.

The Lido Market is the place to go for a relaxed dining experience, and it’s open for three meals a day. Also during the day, passengers can check out the Explorations Café, a cosy coffee house with internet access and a great library. This is the place to go to catch up on email and get the latest news from home.

Onboard Amsterdam, there are plenty of opportunities for making new memories, and at the ship’s Digital Workshop, passengers can share them with family and friends. At the Culinary Arts Centre, there are gourmet demonstrations, cooking classes, and attend tasting sessions to attend. The Greenhouse Spa & Salon is open for hot stone massage, sauna, and beauty treatments—perfect for a few hours of pampering, or to get ready for an evening at one of the ship’s entertainment venues.

The Explorer's Lounge provides a great evening’s entertainment, with a program that includes singing and dancing, comedy acts, and variety performances.

For those who are more focused on the destinations included in their cruise, it's also possible to become even more immersed in the cultures of these by embracing the new EXC (Explorations Central) features onboard. These include Q&A sessions and classes from local expert guides, exclusively made handbooks, and an EXC TV channel showing films and documentaries about the different destinations on the itinerary.

Children and teenagers aren’t left out of the fun. For kids aged between 3 and 12, there’s Club Hal, a kids-only fully supervised activity centre, and The Loft where teens aged 13 to 17 get together.
