Introducing Symphony of the Seas

08 Mar 2018 | by Helen Williams

With her debut sailing scheduled for March 30th 2018, Symphony of the Seas is set to make waves as the largest cruise ship in the world. We can't wait to meet her, and here are all the reasons why.

Accommodating an incredible 5,475 passengers and 2,390 crew members, she steals the title of ‘World’s Biggest Cruise Ship’ from Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. As such, it should come as no surprise to learn that Symphony of the Seas boasts a huge array of fantastic onboard features.

New Onboard Features

Not only does Symphony of the Seas have some of our favourite Oasis class features, but she also boasts a bundle of new, playful and sometimes surprising features:

Laser Tag

This activity is so much fun for guests of all ages. Choose to join your team – robots or aliens – and battle it out until there is just one winning side. Either work together with your friends and family, or it can be great fun to play against each other.

Sugar Beach Candy & Ice-cream

This venue is certainly one for those with a sweet tooth. With shelves stocked full of all your favourite sweets and chocolate, and an extensive ice-cream bar to boot, there is plenty to choose from to satisfy a craving for something sweet. The venue will also host some fun cupcake-decorating classes.

New Theatrical Shows

Families will love the onboard production of the famous, critically-acclaimed show Hairspray. This playful, colourful classic will have you tapping your toes and singing along in no time. Another new show is Flight – a satirical tale of the history and future of flying. Expect to become somewhat educated and have a lot of laughs while doing so.

El Loco Fresh & Hooked Seafood

Symphony of the Seas is home to two exciting new dining venues for Royal Caribbean; El Loco Fresh and Hooked Seafood. The latter serves some unforgettable, tasty New England style seafood, while El Loco Fresh offers classic Mexican fare in a perfectly casual environment.

Returning Onboard Features

As well as these fantastic new facilities, Symphony of the Seas also offers some classic Royal Caribbean features, many of which can also be found on other Oasis class ships.

Flowrider

Royal Caribbean’s infamous Flow Rider makes another appearance on Symphony of the Seas, supplying families with hours of playful fun. Kids and adults alike can test their skills on this exhilarating surf simulator, either with or without a personal instructor.

Aquatheatre

Watch on in awe as professionals surprise the audience with high dive acrobatic skills and synchronised swimming paired with a fascinating, well-choreographed light show and impressive technology.

Splashaway Bay

One for the kids, the innovative Splashaway Bay is a fun water park complete with water cannons, a drench bucket, and climbing frame – all of which will keep younger guests entertained for hours. Watch on as they make new friends and have the time of their lives.

Bionic Bar

This brilliant innovation allows guests to order their favourite cocktail - or indeed their own cocktail creation - from a tablet, and then watch as robotic barmen mix it for them.

With seven unique neighbourhoods onboard, and a restaurant and pastime to suit everyone, Symphony of the Seas is certainly one show-stopping member of Royal Caribbean’s fleet. Discover our range of upcoming Symphony of the Seas sailings, and take your family on the cruise holiday of a lifetime.
