Liverpool has been an important maritime centre since the 18th century, and high on the list of attractions is the Albert Dock. Dating back to 1846, the dock is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is now home to several fascinating museums. One of these is The Beatles Story, which pays homage to – arguably – Liverpool’s biggest claim to fame. In addition to the museum, Beatles’ fans can take a city tour to see sites that played a part in the band’s history, such as Penny Lane, the Strawberry Fields, and of course The Cavern Club.
Other activities include a ride on the Big Wheel, which allows a brilliant view of the city, or football fans have the opportunity to take a tour of Anfield Stadium and see The Liverpool FC Story museum.
