Bermuda cruises

Bermuda’s position in the Atlantic Ocean, 650 miles east of North Carolina, ensures that it has a pleasant climate without the extremes of heat or humidity of the tropical Caribbean. It is made up of a chain of 200 coral islands, the remains of a volcanic caldera, most of which are uninhabited. The 8 main islands are joined by bridges or causeways, making up a land mass of only 21 square miles. The larger cruise ships dock at King’s Wharf on Ireland Island South, which offers the distinctive Georgian architecture of the old British Naval Dockyard. Cruise ships also call at 3 smaller ports: the Royal Naval Dockyard on Ireland Island North, the capital of Hamilton on Main Island, and St George’s on Smith’s Island in the east of the archipelago. The historic town of St George’s, first settled in 1612, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
