Panama cruises
The Panama Canal is a vital link between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and one of the world’s greatest engineering wonders. On a cruise through the Panama Canal, you will experience both the grandeur of nature and the magnificent ingenuity of man. Some Caribbean cruises stop at the port of Colon for a day without entering the canal. An alternative is to take a ride on the refurbished Panama Railway, which follows the canal route between the Atlantic and Pacific. On a partial transit, ships stop at the town of Gamboa from where passengers can enjoy excursions into the Soberania National Park. An hour from Colon, you can watch the canal in action at the Miraflores Locks. This is closer to the Pacific end of the canal, near the port of Balboa. From there, you can explore the sights of Panama City, its skyscrapers and Baroque facades.
