Carnival will be greeting a new member to the Vista Class fleet in 2019.
Originally planned to be built for P&O Cruises Australia, the unnamed ship weighing at 133,500 tonnes will be one of Carnivals largest, carrying 4,200 passengers and will be a sister to Carnival Vista. The president of Carnival Cruise Line, Christine Duffy stated that Carnival Vista “has proven to be the most innovative and popular ship" they’ve ever introduced and we can be sure to expect the same level of innovation on the new vessel, and more.
Duffy also added, “Consumer, travel agent and media reaction to the Vista class design has been extraordinary and we are elated to have two additional ships in this spectacular series now joining our fleet – Carnival Horizon, which is scheduled to be delivered in March 2018, and now a third in 2019.” Vista class fans will be pleased as the extra two ships will add new homeports in which to sail from.
In exchange for the unnamed ship joining Vista Class, Carnival will hand over ownership of 3,000-passenger Carnival Splendor to P&O Cruises Australia.
As well as the ships name, the homeport and itineraries are yet to be released.
